MONTGOMERY – On the next to last Sunday before Election Day, November 2, Governor Kathy Hochul made a stop in the Hudson Valley to stump for Orange County Democrats.

“Turn Orange blue on November 2,” the governor said to her fellow party members.

“These candidates are ready,” she said, at the Orange County Airport. “It’s all about what we do next.”

Hochul shared tales of rising through local government near Buffalo and defeating Republican majorities to eventually become the state’s highest elected official.

“We can do that right here in Orange County because we did it in a town on the other side of the state so I know it’s possible. And the difference is it’s all about who you put up to run and the slate of candidates you have here are second to none,” she said.

“It’s possible,” Hochul said, “never stop believing.”

Donette Smith, Democratic candidate for Newburgh town board, was waiting for the governor to arrive, and she said she was grateful for the support from Hochul.

“I excited to meet the governor for sure,” she said. “I think it would activate our voters.”
