MIDDLETOWN – It is with deep sadness that we report the untimely death of our senior reporter, Paul Ostrander.

Paul was only 32 years old when he passed away suddenly on Saturday.

He was a well-respected journalist by everyone he was assigned to cover.

“Paul was more than just a trusted, loyal and professional colleague at Mid-Hudson News, he was a cousin,” said Publisher Hank Gross. “Paul grew with us and was a beloved member of our team, who will be dearly missed.”

In addition to his duties as a reporter, Paul was an accomplished musician, having played with a number of bands and also taught music lessons. He also recently returned to college to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in music theory.

Paul is survived by his parents, John and Barbara Ostrander.
