To the Editor:

Election season is more than just signs all over the side of the roads.  The Town of Newburgh is in excellent shape. The Town of Newburgh has great leadership in our town.

The town has never gone over the tax cap. Recently dedicated our new Code Compliance/ Animal overflow building and the Desmond Campus. Both these buildings are huge assets to the community and due to the work of our town leaders working with others, we were able to acquire and update at no cost to the taxpayers.

Councilman Paul Ruggiero went a step further and became the clerk of the works for the code/animal building also at no cost to the taxpayer and coordinated each trade.

Councilwoman Greene is the liaison to the recreation department, the town recently revealed our plans for our senior/recreation building and the many new opportunities coming our way, from the purchase of riverfront land to new pickleball courts going in shortly on Monarch Drive.

The Town of Newburgh is also expected to have a zero percent increase in taxes for 2022. The Town of Newburgh Town Board works together to form the team we have and both deserve to be re-elected.

Please join me in re-electing Councilwoman Elizabeth Greene and Councilman Paul Ruggiero.

Scott Manley
Newburgh
