FISHKILL – The Town of Fishkill is going to spend a portion of its $2.2 million in federal stimulus money to upgrade its water systems.

Supervisor Ozzie Albra said the town anticipates further upgrades to its systems.

“The town board voted to use $600,000 to begin water improvements such as emergency connections and generators so that when the power goes out, the people won’t lose water,” he said.

The town board also committed to looking for other ways to use stimulus money to cover the costs of future improvements in the Brinkerhoff Water District and elsewhere.
