Elderly bicyclist struck by car

PEARL RIVER – A 76-year-old Haverstraw man, who was riding his bicycle on Middletown Road in Pearl River, was struck by a car that was exiting Route 304 onto Middletown Road.

The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 14.

The bicyclist was treated at the scene by Pearl River Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics and then transported to Westchester Medical Center for additional treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman from Suffern, suffered no injuries.

The Orangetown Police accident Investigation Team is looking into the incident with assistance from Rockland County BCI, Rockland County Medics and Pearl River Ambulance.
