WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man who sexually abused a woman as she was entering her apartment in Yonkers and was later identified in three other forcible touching incidents, was sentenced to three years in state prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. Andrew Degree, 27, must also register as a sex offender.

Degree pled guilty to sexual abuse as a felony.

On September 24, 2020 at about 8:50 a.m., Degree approached a woman from behind who was entering her building in Yonkers, pulled her pants down and sexually assaulted her. A struggle ensured and Degree fled the scene with the woman chasing him for blocks while on the phone with Yonkers Police. She eventually lost sight of him.

Police arrested him on October 1, 2020 after reviewing surveillance videos. He was later identified in three separate forcible touching incidents that took place in the same area in August and September of that year.

Degree was sentenced on Tuesday.
