Second cabbie shot dead

NEW ROCHELLE – A 62-year-old New Rochelle cabbie is dead, the victim of two apparent gunshot wounds.

New Rochelle City Police said Andres Valenzuela was finishing his shift as a taxi driver and was parking his cab when he was gunned down.

At 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, New Rochelle Police on patrol spotted the man on he ground in the parking lot of Juliano’s Caterers at 700 Main Street.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On the evening of September 30, cabbie Jorge “Coky” Arbayza De La Cruz, 51, was shot and killed in the City of Newburgh by what is believed to have been a group of men he had picked up as a fare.

No arrests have been made in either case.
