Three sent to hospital after morning crash

Poughkeepsie Town Police are investigating the cause of the accident

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A three-car accident sent three people to local hospitals and snarled the morning commute on Tuesday.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Violet Avenue (Route 9G) and Pendell Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie around 8:15 a.m.

 

The accident was called in by a captain with the MTA police who happened to be in the area at the time.  Firefighters from the Fairview fire department used rescue tools to remove a passenger who had been trapped in one of the vehicles.

 

The three injured occupants were transported to local hospitals by ambulances from Fairview and Mobile Life Support Services.

 

Violet Avenue was closed between Pendell Road and East Cedar while the accident was cleared.
