The New Paltz Fire Department, along with police from New Paltz, SUNY New Paltz, and the State Police arrived on the scene and determined that one of the vehicles had rolled over trapping one occupant and a canine in the vehicle.  First responders extricated the injured occupant and dog from the one vehicle and the occupant of the second vehicle was removed through the door.

One patient was transported to Westchester Medical Center via helicopter due to the severity of the injuries sustained.  The New Paltz Rescue Squad transported the other passenger to a local hospital via ambulance.
