ATF offers reward in Newburgh cabbie murder

NEWBURGH – The federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives has offered a cash reward of $5,000 for any information leading to the identification and arrest of the individuals who shot and killed Newburgh cabbie Jorge Arbayza De La Cruz on Thursday night.

Arbayza, 51, a native of Peru, was found lying in the street at 144 North Miller Street near the car he was driving for Express Taxi.

Newburgh City Police and State Police are investigating along with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the ATF.

On Friday, Police said they believed Arbayza was shot and killed by a group of men during a robbery.

His brother, Mario Arbayza has told Mid-Hudson News that he is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of suspects.
