POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie police were dispatched to Muldowney Circle Saturday morning for reports of “shots fired”.  The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m.

Residents of the Corlies Manor apartment complex told Mid Hudson News that they heard four or five shots ring out.  One witness looked out the window to see a car speeding east on Muldowney and turn right to leave out of the complex moments after the gunfire.

A second resident said “I heard the shots and immediately ran to get my children to put them on the floor.  It’s getting really bad around here and the management office isn’t doing anything.”

Police investigating the incident recovered several shell casings on the pavement of Muldowney Circle and located a Mercedes-Benz sedan that had been struck by bullets.

In March of this year, police responded to a fight on Muldowney Circle and arrested a man with an illegally possessed handgun.  In September of 2020, a man was shot on Muldowney Circle.  Mid Hudson News accounts of both incidents can be read by clicking on the links.

The investigation into the latest incident is ongoing and police are asking for anyone with information to call 845-451-7577.
