Newburgh City cops save stabbing victim’s life

NEWBURGH – Police Chief Anthony Geraci is crediting his Newburgh city officers with saving the life of a man who was stabbed on Friday, August 27.  The incident occurred at 7:55 a.m. near 310 Broadway.

Geraci said officers responded to the stabbing and located a 48-year-old victim with a serious laceration to his forearm inside of 310 Broadway.  The officers immediately applied a tourniquet to stop the arterial blood loss.  The man received additional treatment at the hospital.

The police investigation identified Terrence Norman, a 50-year-old city resident, as the suspect and quickly took him into custody.  Norman was charged with felony assault.
