KINGSTON – Effective Thursday, September 2, the City of Kingston will be requiring that masks be worn indoors by both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals at all city buildings.

Mayor Steven Noble said the mandate applies to all visitors to municipal buildings and all city employees when interacting with the public and/or within six feet of other workers.

Based on information from the CDC, state and Ulster County Health Department, the city is recommending that individuals wear masks indoors in public places and when around others outside of your household when indoors.

This will be in effect until the rate of community transmission is reduced given the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant.

Visitors will still be required to sign in when visiting a city building and indicate whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated in order to help with contact tracing efforts.
