Monday night search at the Hawks Nest (c) MHNN

SPARROWBUSH – Dozens of first responders spent hours late Monday night searching in the area of the Hawks Nest in Sparrowbush for a report of a man over the wall.

Sparrowbush, Port Jervis, Lumberland Fire Departments, Orange County Tech Team, Town of Deerpark Police, State Police and other emergency responders were on the scene at Route 97 searching for a man reported over the wall.

The individual’s vehicle and other items were parked by the wall.

A drone, helicopter, and rope team searched with no sign of a person below the wall as of early Tuesday morning.

Emergency units remained on scene with rescuers on high angle ropes searching the steep rocky, wooded area along the New York side of the Delaware River.
