TOWN OF FISHKILL – Three Fishkill youths are facing charges for a crime spree in the Rombout Village area of Fishkill that occurred on August 16 and August 17.

Fishkill Police Lieutenant Paul Schettino said his department received at least four complaints from residents in the area indicating that their front doors had been kicked in or otherwise damaged over the course of two days.

“Our patrol and detective divisions were told that three subjects wearing masks were witnessed acting suspiciously in the Rombout Village area at the time of the incidents and began the investigation.  As a result, three youths were identified and interviewed, at which time some admissions were made by the subjects,” explained Schettino.

The group of alleged vandals is made up of a 12-year-old and two 14-year-olds.  “The official charges will be determined in consultation with the Dutchess County Attorney’s office which is tasked with the prosecution of youths,” said Schettino.  “Because of their ages and state law, the youths will be subjected to proceedings in Dutchess County Family Court.”
