TOWN OF WAPPINGER -Town Supervisor Richard Thurston has presented three town businesses with “Small Business of the Month” awards recently after touring local businesses with County Legislator Joseph Cavaccini.

Farm Stores of the Hudson Valley, Wayne’s Way Wholesale Cabinets, and Obercreek Brewing Company were presented with the town’s #WappingerProud Small Business of the Month awards as a part of Thurston’s initiative for promoting and increasing local businesses within the Town of Wappinger.

“The initiative includes increasing staff in the Code Enforcement Office to expedite permits and projects, building communications between those who have chosen to invest in the town, holding ribbon cuttings, and nominating local businesses for ‘Small Business of the Month’,” said Thurston.

Farm Stores is a combination of a grocery store, bakery, and restaurant.  Wayne’s is a family-owned craftsman-style cabinet shop, and OberCkreek Brewing is a craft brewery on an organic farm, operating since 2017.
