PORT JERVIS – A 37-year-old Port Jervis man has been arrested following a domestic incident in which two city police officers were injured.

Just before 8 p.m. on Monday, August 16, officers responded to a Barcelow Street residence in response to a domestic disturbance between former intimate partners, a man and woman.

While attempting to arrest the man, later identified as Guy Dixon, at the threshold of the porch door for felony robbery, he slammed the door into the officers causing the large double glass panel to shatter and shards of glass to strike the officers.

One policeman suffered minor cuts and the second suffered a more serious hand and arm injury requiring surgery at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. The officer with minor injuries was sutured and released.

Dixon was arrested and also charged with assault on a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon, both as felonies.

Dixon was also found in possession of crack cocaine and was charged with felony drug possession.

He was held in the city lockup pending arraignment in Port Jervis City Court.
