CALLICOON – Brett Lorezen, of Hancock, grew up in Iowa. But his love of fishing brought him to the upper region of the Delaware River, and now he is a guide.
Lorezen stood in the back of the crowd Thursday as elected officials and representatives from the New York City’s water department and environmental advocates met along the river to discuss how to care and promote this region.
“This is a river that borders four states along the way. It’s got multiple counties and multiple types of jurisdictions,” he said. “We have climate problems, which will be increasing rain flows. I think without partnerships of the different types of groups that have to be involved, everybody is just spitting into the wind.”
