KINGSTON – The Ulster County SPCA is over capacity with animals and it is asking for them to be adopted or moved into foster homes.

“We continue to receive calls daily from our community asking for help, but we are at a point of having to say we cannot help, which potentially can leave an animal at risk,” said Executive Director Gina Carbonari. “Many of you know me well, and also know that I am not one to raise the alarm unless it is absolutely necessary. We are at that point.”

She said it is “heartbreaking” knowing they cannot accept animals normally headed for death row “may not make it out now.”

Carbonari asked anyone who is considering adopting, or may know anyone else who is, to apply on the SPCA website at http://www.ucspca.org .
