Preserve New York grants announced

Howland Cultural Center

ALBANY – The Preservation League of New York State and their program partners at the New York State Council on the Arts have announced their Preserve New York grantees for this year.

In Dutchess County, Van Wyck Council on the Arts and Culture, Inc., doing business as Howland Cultural Center in Beacon, will receive $10,000. The Wassaic Project will receive $8,150.

In Greene County, the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society has been awarded $8,000.

In Orange County, the Chester Historical Society will receive $5,200.

The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition, in Putnam County, will receive $9,600 and the Town of Carmel will receive $6,200.

In Ulster County, the Jewish Federation of Ulster County will receive $9,440 to fund a historic structure report for Reher Bakery in Kingston, and Woodstock Guild of Craftsmen, Inc, will receive $5,750.
