Street fight leads to armed robbery

NEW PALTZ – A disturbance outside a local establishment in the Village of New Paltz early Saturday morning led to an armed robbery.

When New Paltz Police were called to a disturbance and when they arrived, they learned that the victims were involved in a verbal dispute with the suspects earlier in the evening.

At about 4:20, the suspects observed the victims sitting outside of a business in the area of Main and Prospect streets. One of the suspects approached the victims, pulled a handgun, and demanded personal belongings. The suspect got into a waiting vehicle and fled.

New Paltz Police are investigating the incident and following up on leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Paltz Police Detective Division at 845-255-1357.
