HYDE PARK – A possible development into the case of a missing Hyde Park woman brought several State Police investigators to the grounds of Hyde Park Estates on Friday afternoon.  Troopers have been actively trying to locate 48-year-old Bobbilyn Sturgess for more than two weeks and have been asking the community for help.

Sturgess was last known to be residing at the Hyde Park Estates apartment complex with her male companion, who is reported to be an employee of the complex.

On Friday afternoon, investigators were scouring the field and wastewater pumphouse of the complex on the east side of Route 9 at the intersection of Farm Lane in Hyde Park.  Investigators declined to provide the reason for their search.  An officer familiar with Friday’s search said that it was related to the disappearance of Sturgess.

According to law enforcement, Sturgess was reported missing in July by out-of-town family members.  A family member told Mid-Hudson News that her male companion claimed that Sturgess had moved out of their apartment in June and he had not seen her since June 9.  State Police requested the assistance of local media to help publicize the case with the intent to generate leads for investigators.

Sturgess is described as a white female, age 48, five-feet one-inch tall, 120 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She is known to frequent the city of Poughkeepsie area.  State Police are asking for anyone with information to call them at (845) 677-7300 and reference case number 10309658.
