ORANGE COUNTY – NYS Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) has secured operational funding for The Chamber of Commerce of Orange County in this year’s state budget. The funding, totaling $40,000, will enable the Orange County Chamber to continue supporting and advocating on behalf of the many small businesses within the region, including providing discounted introductory rates for new business members looking to strengthen their operations using the Chamber’s many membership tools.

“For businesses and organizations throughout Orange County’s many communities, access to the Chamber’s collection of tools and resources can be a game-changer,” said Senator Skoufis. “It’s my honor to support the Chamber’s work, helping to power Orange County’s long-standing entrepreneurial spirit, investing in new industries, encouraging commercial collaborations, and much more. During the height of COVID-19, our small business community could have easily taken a back seat, but we instead saw Orange County businesses rally to provide citizens and front-line workers with the resources and support they needed at an incredibly difficult time. We owe them reciprocity and a debt of gratitude.”

“This is monumental and we are so very grateful to Senator Skoufis for advocating on behalf of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the members that we serve throughout the county,” said Chamber President & CEO, Heather Bell. “This funding will allow us to deliver quality membership investments with a significant return.”

The grant will be administered by the New York State Urban Development Corporation.
