POUGHKEEPSIE – Poughkeepsie’s 911 center received a report of a woman with a gun on Friday afternoon and immediately dispatched police to the location.
The caller told dispatch that the armed woman was in the vicinity of 290 Main Street. Uniformed officers responded to the area along with detectives.
The subject, later identified as Nadyah Cooper, was stopped by police who then searched her. Cooper was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol.
She was taken into custody without incident, processed, and held for arraignment.
