KINGSTON – Ulster County Government and its CSEA employees’ union have reached a tentative five-year contract agreement.

The union represents over 900 county workers.

The new pact covers the period of January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024.

Employees will receive a 3.5 percent increase for 2020, 3.5 percent increase in 2021, and two percent plus 25-cents per hour wage increase for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024.

“After seeing our workforce step up and serve our community throughout all the challenges of this last year, I am proud that we are now stepping up to take care of them in this contract,” said County Executive Patrick Ryan.

CSEA Unit 8950 President Kirk Jones said union members “stepped up in a major way for the residents of Ulster County during the pandemic. We appreciate County Executive Ryan acknowledging that tremendous work through his willingness to negotiate a fair and respectful contract.”

A total of 96 percent of the CSEA membership ratified the contract agreement on Monday, June 28. The county legislature is expected to vote on the pact at its July 20 session.
