Wolfe: Commissioner Zebrowski Stavisky exceptional choice for state  elections post

NEW CITY – Rockland County Legislature Chairman Alden Wolfe said the State Board of Elections has made an exceptional choice in appointing Kristen Zebrowski Stavisky as its new co-executive director.

She has served as Rockland County’s Democratic Elections Commissioner since 2013 and has been active in the leadership of the New York State Elections Commissioners Association since 2016.

Her new job as co-executive director of the New York State Board of Elections includes the remaining portion of the unexpired term of Robert Brehm, who is stepping down, and includes a full four-year term that begins on Aug. 8, 2021.

Commissioner Zebrowski Stavisky has been actively involved in State and Rockland County Government for more than 30 years. From 1998 – 2011, she served as a Committeewoman for the Clarkstown and Rockland Democratic Committees and ultimately became the Chairwoman of the Rockland County Democratic Committee.

For the last nine years, she has served on the Executive Committee of the New York State Democratic Party, first as assistant secretary and currently as secretary.

Commissioner Zebrowski Stavisky will be resigning from all party positions, as well as her county elections’ commissioner post.
