Kingston man charged with felony assault in stabbing

TOWN OF ULSTER – A 42-year-old Kingston man was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail following a stabbing that occurred early Friday morning.

Town of Ulster Police said an altercation at Shoprite at 801 Miron Lane lead to the stabbing of a 36-year-old Kingston man. He was rushed to the hospital in Kingston and later transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The alleged assailant, Vincent Italiani, was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with felony assault and remanded in lieu of $45,000 cash bail or $70,000 bond.

Ulster Police were assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, Ulster Hose Fire and Mobile Life Support Services.
