PORT JERVIS – A 32-year-old man who was swimming in the Delaware River off Port Jervis Sunday evening went under water and has not been located, Police Chief William Worden said.
The man, who was swimming at Goose Rock, a popular area adjacent to Laurel Grove, was reported missing after 7 p.m.
Dive crews from Port Jervis and area fire departments searched for him until about 8:45 p.m. when it was called off because of darkness.
The chief said the search will resume Monday morning.
