Rockland next in line for attorney general’s gun buyback program

NEW CITY – The State Attorney General’s Office (AG) will be conducting a gun buyback program in Rockland County on Wednesday, June 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This is the latest in a series of AG buyback programs held in the region.

This one will be held at the East Spring Valley Firehouse at 62 Overlook Boulevard in Nanuet.

As with all of these programs, weapons may be turned in with no questions asked. Gift cards will be given to persons bringing in the weapons.

An assault rifle is worth a $250 gift card. A handgun is worth a $150 card. Anyone turning in a rifle or shotgun will be given a $75 gift card and non-working or antique guns may be redeemed for a $25 gift card.

Weapons should be empty, placed in a bag and brought to the site in the trunk of a car.
