HYDE PARK – State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in an accident Thursday afternoon in Hyde Park.  The mishap occurred near the intersection of Crum Elbow and Cardinal Roads, near the Hyde Park Police and Town Court facility.  No injuries were reported.

A witness told Mid-Hudson News that the Chevy Suburban that was carrying Hochul rear-ended a vehicle that was attempting to turn onto Cardinal Road.  Hochul’s state vehicle was driven by a state trooper assigned to the Lt. Governor’s security detail.

Hyde Park Police Officers responded to the accident at 5:41 p.m. and turned the investigation over to responding State Police.

Hochul was in Dutchess County Thursday afternoon for an event at the Hudson Valley Airport in Wappinger and was said to be on her way to Putnam County from a private function in Hyde Park when the accident occurred.
