Weidel retires as Ramapo PD chief; Reilly named his successor

RAMAPO – Martin Reilly has been named the new chief of the Ramapo Town Police Department following the retirement of Chief Brad Weidel.

Weidel served in law enforcement for 40 years, starting in the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and transitioning over to Ramapo where he rose to the rank of chief in 2016.

Colleagues joined him in an official “walkout” ceremony on Friday.

Reilly has served in law enforcement for 36 years, 34 of which have been with the Ramapo department.
