SAUGERTIES – A 32-year-old Saugerties man has been charged with criminal mischief and an order of protection has been lodged on behalf of the victim.
Saugerties Police said James McKnight went to the victim’s West Bridge Street residence unannounced on June 8 and entered without invitation.
He is the father of her children.
The victim said she had a guest over at the time and when McKnight saw the individual, he became aggressive and confrontational toward her. He reportedly damaged the door to the home and then punched a sheetrock wall causing damage.
Following arraignment, McKnight was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
