TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A fire in a wall of an occupied residence was prevented from spreading by the quick response of the Arlington Fire Department on Friday morning.

The 12 Stuart Drive fire was reported at 11:55 a.m., and firefighters were on the scene two minutes later.

Authorities said the fire, likely caused by a contractor who was soldering pipes in the wall, was quickly extinguished by the first responders.

One civilian was treated by Mobile Life medics for a burn to the hand.

The actual cause of the small fire is under investigation, according to fire officials.  The Town of Poughkeepsie Police also assisted at the scene.
