TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A fire in a wall of an occupied residence was prevented from spreading by the quick response of the Arlington Fire Department on Friday morning.
The 12 Stuart Drive fire was reported at 11:55 a.m., and firefighters were on the scene two minutes later.
Authorities said the fire, likely caused by a contractor who was soldering pipes in the wall, was quickly extinguished by the first responders.
One civilian was treated by Mobile Life medics for a burn to the hand.
The actual cause of the small fire is under investigation, according to fire officials. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police also assisted at the scene.
