Woman tries to swallow cocaine to avoid arrest

LIVINGSTON – A 54-year-old Livingston woman was arrested on Thursday, June 10 for drug possession after she tried to swallow cocaine to get rid of the evidence.

State Police stopped a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9 in the Town of Livingston at around 4:50 in the afternoon and found that the driver, identified as Brigid Fonda, possessed some seven grams of cocaine. Once discovered, she tied to swallow it and resisted arrest.

She was charged with two counts of drug possession and resisting arrest.

She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
