NEW ROCHELLE – A Bronx man has been arrested in New Rochelle in connection with a shooting death during a home invasion robbery in New York City.

On June 6, a detective from NYPD contacted New Rochelle Police to say they believed suspects from the Bronx homicide were in that Westchester County city.

Two suspects were identified along with a suspect vehicle.

On June 8 at about 4:15 a.m., a license plate reader alerted New Rochelle Police to the wanted car in the vicinity of Webster and Lincoln avenues.

New Rochelle Police monitored street cameras and spotted the vehicle pulling into 405 Webster Avenue.

Police cornered the vehicle and as the suspect jumped out a brief foot pursuit took place resulting in his arrest. One of the suspects, Marlon Gardner, 23, was arrested, booked for murder and turned over to NYPD officers.

There was no mention by police of any leads on the second suspect.
