Jersey man killed in glider crash (video)

WURTSBORO – That glider crash at Wurtsboro Airport Sunday afternoon resulted in a fatality.

State Police said the operator, Khanh Nguyen, 64, of Tenafly, New Jersey, was flying a glider when it crashed on the tarmac and skidded off the runway.

Arriving troopers immediately began life saving measures. Wurtsboro Fire, Mobile Medic and Mamakating EMS arrived and took over.

Nguyen was transported to Helo Medevac to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where he died from his injuries, State Police said.

The FAA was notified and responded to the scene.
