Bronx man killed when car crashes 40 feet down embankment

TOWN OF HIGHLANDS – A Bronx man was killed when his 2000 BMW ran off Long Mountain Traffic Circle in the Town of Highlands at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 and careened some 40 feet down an embankment.

The driver, Pierre Brooks, 29, who was alone in the car, was ejected.

State troopers and Town of Highlands Police began life saving measures. The Fort Montgomery Fire Department High Angle Rescue Team, Town of Highlands Police and Fort Montgomery Paramedics assisted with extrication of Brooks who was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
