MIDDLETOWN – The 26 paid firefighters in the City of Middletown have a new contract.

The common council has approved the three-year pact, said Mayor Joseph DeStefano.

In 2021, there is a zero percent increase, in 2022 there is a 1.5 percent increase in salary and in 2023, there is a two percent increase. The mayor said there are also some minor changes in the contractual language as well.

Middletown has a hybrid fire department comprised of both paid and volunteer firefighters.
