HYDE PARK – A large group of area residents attended the Tuesday evening Hyde Park Town Hall session held by Congressman Antonio Delgado (D, NY-19). It was the first in-person such event he has held since COVID-19 struck.

He told those gathered outside that serving in Congress begins at home.

“There are a lot of distractions in Washington. There are a lot of ways that you can have your ego inflated. There are a lot of ways that you can chase power through influence and forget about the reasons you are there in the first place,” he said. “So, for me these town halls are not just about hearing from you directly and answering your questions and getting a feel for your needs, it is also about anchoring me to make sure I don’t forget who sent me there in the first place, the community I represent.”

Delgado also discussed legislation he successfully moved through Congress and the COVID-related stimulus packages.
