PLEASANT VALLEY – As a result of recent workplace violence complaints levied against town board member John DelVecchio, the board is holding a special meeting Friday morning, May 28, at 9 a.m.  The session is being held to hire an outside attorney to investigate the numerous complaints.

DelVecchio has been accused by several town employees of creating an unsafe work environment by relaying confidential information to a town resident.

Town board member Frank Mazzella said the outside counsel is necessary to investigate the workplace violence complaints and is not already associated with the town.

“We want to get the concerns of the employees addressed,” said Mazzella. “We feel that any and all complaints should be taken seriously, and we wanted to make sure that we handled them in a timely manner.”
