TOWN OF GREENVILLE – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection with a burglary on Tuesday at a residence on State Route 81 in the Town of Greeneville.

When deputies arrived, they found Brandon Goff, 23, inside. He was immediately taken into custody.

As members continued to search the house, they encountered another suspect hiding in a crawl space off the basement. Deputies and state troopers attempted to talk the person out, but he retreated further into the space and attempted to grab a knife.

That’s when deputies deployed K-9 “Hass” as a less lethal use of force to secure the suspect, who turned out to be a 17-year-old youth from the Greenville area. He was evaluated at the scene by Greenville Ambulance.

Both suspects were charged with burglary, possession of burglar’s tools and petit larceny.

The teen was released with appearance tickets to family court. Goff was released on his own recognizance pending further court action.

State Police and Greenville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
