UPDATE: City police investigate early morning shooting of teenager

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 14-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident is the latest victim of gun violence in that city.

The teen was reported shot several times shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday. He sustained gunshots to his arm and jaw and was rushed to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and later airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Initial reports indicated the shooting may have occurred in the vicinity of 103 Garden Street. He was located in the vicinity of Morse Elementary School on Mansion Street.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the anonymous tip line at 845-451-7577.
