TOWN OF WALLKILL – The shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline earlier this week by computer hackers has led to temporary gasoline hoarding in various parts of the country and it was even seen in the Hudson Valley.

At one gas station in the Town of Wallkill on Wednesday, long lines of vehicles were the order of the day and some people even brought gas cans to fill in the event of a shortage.

One man loaded his pickup truck with seven five-gallon cans of gas after sitting on a stool while he filled them up. He declined to discuss his reasoning for the extra gas supply.

The fear of a gas shortage even shot up the price of gas with it reaching $4 per gallon in some areas of the region.
