KIAMESHA LAKE – The Resorts World Catskills casino was shuttered for most of a year during the pandemic and was allowed to reopen at 25 percent capacity a few months ago. Recently, the resort was given the green light to open at full capacity.
Despite the roadblocks caused by COVID-19, the main hotel has been operating at near capacity on weekends, said Meghan Taylor, vice president of Government Affairs & Community Relations.
“The Catskills as we know is a beautiful place that has so much to offer beyond the casino as well. We have folks coming up and maybe spending a night at our fine dining restaurants and just getting away for a night just to do something different,” she said.
The casino and hotels are being marketed toward the New York City metro area as destination locations.
