POUGHKEEPSIE – The 21-story tall, glass-enclosed elevator to the Walkway Over the Hudson has re-opened. Like everything else, it had been closed because of the pandemic.

Walkway Executive Director Elizbeth Waldstein-Hart said it reopened just days ago.

“If you are a cohort, then you are welcome to come on, otherwise, it is limited to three people with masks,” she said. “We are happy to have that connection with the train station and with Metro-North.”

The elevator, which operates weather permitting, is accessible from Upper Landing Park in the City of Poughkeepsie.
