Capacity restrictions to be lifted in NY, NJ, CT

ALBANY – Capacity restrictions on many types of businesses and public facilities will be lifted in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on May 19, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday.

They include retail, food services, gyms and fitness centers, amusement and family entertainment, hair salons, barber shops and other personal care services, and houses of worship.

Congregate commercial and social events, including venues that host sports competitions, performing arts and live entertainment, and catered receptions, can exceed social gathering limits of 500 people outdoors or 250 people indoors in fall attendees over the age of four present either proof of full vaccination status or recent negative COVID-19 test result and the requires social distancing can be accommodated.

These new rules apply to New York and New Jersey.
