State Trooper injured by hit-and-run driver

NEW ROCHELLE – A State trooper who was conducting a vehicle and traffic stop on I-95 southbound in the City of New Rochelle, was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

State Police said Trooper Jean Cime, a seven-year veteran assigned to the New Rochelle barracks, was walking back to his patrol car when a white van failed to move over and struck him just before 9 p.m. on April 28. The van failed to stop.

Cime was transported to White Plains Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The van did not hit the patrol car or the vehicle that was pulled over.

No other injuries were reported.

State Police are asking anyone in the area during the time of the incident who may have more information to contact Troop T headquarters at 518-436-2825.
