GOSHEN – Search warrants have been executed in Kingston, Newburgh and Gardiner in connection with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigation into the county Industrial Development Agency, law enforcement sources told Mid-Hudson News on Friday.
The investigators were looking for financial records and computers pertaining to Vincent Cozzolino and the Galileo company that he heads. What, if anything was seized, could not be ascertained.
Until recently, Cozzolino and his company were under contract with the IDA to manage its operations.
Several weeks ago, the Orange County Legislature fired the entire IDA board and replaced it with new members, who then terminated the Galileo’s contract.
Shortly thereafter, District Attorney David Hoovler announced he would undertake an investigation into the IDA’s operations under Galileo and Cozzolino.
Hoovler confirmed that Friday’s activities pertained to his investigation of the IDA.
