Ruby man arrested for firing shotgun during domestic incident

RUBY – Town of Ulster Police have arrested a 33-year-old Ruby man following a domestic dispute with shots fired on East Side Hill Road in Ruby on Wednesday.

Arrested was Perry Zoda, who was charged with the felonies of criminal contempt, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Police said investigation revealed during the course of the dispute, Zoda fired several rounds from a shotgun in an unknown direction while outside the residence. There were no reported injuries.

Zoda was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail pending a future court appearance.

Ulster Police were assisted by the Kingston-Ulster Emergency Services Unit, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, Ruby Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services.
