HUDSON – Police are investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old Hudson man in broad daylight.

Hudson City Police Chief L. Edward Moore said the victim was located in the area of the 200 block area of State Street at around 11:32 a.m. on Thursday. He was transported to Albany Medical Center; his condition was unknown.

Hudson Police patrols stopped a suspect vehicle and several young men were detained and being interviewed.

HPD was assisted at the scene by the State Police Forensic Investigation Unit and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff Bartlett has assigned some of his patrols to help with call coverage in the city.

Chief Moore said the situation is “stabilized” and does not appear to be related to a call of shots fired on April 17.
